EPW - Le Phare, Swiss, quarter-hour repeater chronograph with triple calendar and moonphase, 57mm, 14K gold original HC with marking of 56 zolotnik gold content stamp indicating its likely production for the Russian or Eastern European market, initials to front, signed gold cuvette bearing attributes and medallions, fancy gilt Louis XV style hands, white enamel quadruple-sunk dial, date register at 12, apertures for day and months at center, aperture for moonphase at 6, SW-shift-locking-LS, lever escapement, 16J, fausses-cĂ´tes pattern nickel damascene, s#73323 within case. Watch comes with a very unusual 12-inch 14K gold chain with links in the form of a series of curving snakes. Gross weight of assembled watch 103.0 dwt (160.3 g); gross weight of chain 19.9 dwt (31.0 g). CONDITION:
Mvt: Ticking but stopping occasionally, repeat function not working as watch returns only a single abrupt tone when button is depressed regardless of time setting, good chronograph function apart from a sluggishness to reset, day calendar function advances as hands are set forward but is not advancing via date setting slide at bezel, other calendar functions and moonphase function advancing via setting slides, overhaul needed, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall; dial with hl at 3:30, hl at 7:30, small hl above seconds-register, small hl below date-register, few very short scratches within upper portion of date-register; date-register hand with oxide, excellent other hands; case bezel is a replacement that seats on dial's perimeter rather than on case step as the original would have, case front with interior wear at portion clasped by latch and front does not stay shut unless given a bit of squeeze while closing, case shows hardly any wear, no dents or dings, very strong engine turning detail; tight brassy replacement bow, crown shows hardly any wear; clean plastic crystal.
